Wounds
04:37
|
|||
Walk a lonely mile
feel the wind in your hair
you pause and wonder a while
whether the path will lead somewhere
Recall the summer days
the play of sunlight on her dress
oh, that smiling gaze
was worth all life’s distress
When you’re weary and all alone
you’ve got nothing but wounds to call your own
though the road ahead’s unknown
you can trust in the light to guide you home
Long the shadows have grown
the trees whisper in the breeze
all the strength you own
now gone like birds beyond the seas
All the moments past
and future blend in somehow
you realize at last
eternity is here and now
When you’re weary and all alone
you’ve got nothing but wounds to call your own
though the road ahead’s unknown
you can trust in the light to guide you home

One Cold Night
03:53
|
|||
Seven is the number of perfection
seven are the letters in your name
countless years I’ve wandered through this desert
and no fountain ever quenched my thirst
Across the stellar age of emptiness
I’ve loved you since before I even knew you
I call out your name and there’s no answer
shadows in the dust refuse to speak
in my hours of darkness I can see you
but at the break of dawn the illusion’s gone
One cold night along these empty streets
I know I will find you searching for me
walking home I saw a shooting star
I guess I’m just tired of being lonely
There are no such things as coincidences
we just can’t see the forest for the trees
Funny how the thing you’re looking for
only appears the moment you stop searching
all those years I stumbled in the dark
all the while the light was growing closer

Broken People
03:47
|
|||
The end is drawing near
and there are things I wanna tell you
so sit next to me and
look me in the eyes
My heart’s a book of secrets
open it and you shall find
there’s a truth that will
shine out like the sun
That you and me
together we’re complete
can’t you see
we got all we need to be free
Just wish I had the time
or the words to explain
but maybe one day
you will understand
That in darkness there is light
that over hate love prevails
that there’s hope
for all the broken people
And that you and me
together we’re complete
can’t you see
we got all we need to be free
You and me
together we’re complete
can’t you see
we got all we need to be free
can’t you see
we got all we need to be free

Let's Hit The Big Time
03:29
|
|||
I’ve been waiting outside your house all day
I know it’s weird but I can explain
It’s the strangest feeling that something big
is about to go down
I’ve been running all the lights just to be on time
I’ve been waiting in the line just to see you smile
I’ll take a skinny vanilla decaf latte to go
but then we really have to be on our way
I know you don’t know me but I know you
maybe better than you know yourself
Hurry up, baby, there’s no time to lose
any minute now the world will end
so take my hand and let’s hit the big time
Come on outside and see the meteor shower
The last display of Lord’s almighty power
The sky is falling but don’t worry, babe
I’ve got it all figured out
I’ve been building a rocket to take us to space
I’ve been thinking of a way to keep you safe
I believe that we’ve been chosen to secure
the survival of the human race
I know you don’t know me but I know you
maybe better than you know yourself
Hurry up, girl, there’s no time to lose
any second now the world will end
so hop onboard and let’s hit the big time
/in pitch-black night
a blind parade
guided by the light
the brightness brigade/

Waters
04:26
|
|||
Alone you must cross
the waters so deep
get through the night
or forever sleep
Sleep in my arms
hear my heart beat
the sound of the drums
of war and defeat
Defeat you fears
the battles await
learn to love
what you’ve learned to hate
Hate is a weight
pulling you down
dark are the waters
swim or you’ll drown
Drown like a stone
clung to love
or choose to let go
and fly like a dove
Dove and the ant
always be kind
wherever you’ll walk
I’ll walk behind
Behind the black waters
flowers have grown
but yet the pain
is yours alone

The Fall
04:56
|
|||
Now that the world is coming to an end
people stock up on food, water and batteries
they take their loved ones to the basement
to play card games, and hope for the best
I guess that’s the way that we humans think
but to the objects falling from the sky
all this love and togetherness
curiously enough, doesn’t seem to matter
But the way I see it
being realistic and all
I’ll sit on my porch, light up a cigarette
and contemplate the Fall
The city is burning in the horizon
ashes rain on my window pane
I kissed her goodbye and said:
’Thanks for everything’
and then she drove off into the flames
Now all this silence makes me wonder
if it would’ve made any difference at all
had I worked a little bit less
and loved her a little bit more
But the way I see it
being realistic and all
I’ll sit on my porch, light up a cigarette
and contemplate the Fall
